Start the workbench
The web workbench is a protocol inspection tool. It is separate from the Remocon end-user interface. Its presets fill fields; they do not automatically send commands.
Run locally
In the test_iosignal_net repository:
npm ci
npm run dev
The development command starts the web UI on port 8080, WebSocket on 7777, and Arduino TCP on 55488. npm start starts only the web UI. Open the printed local URL. For a board-free device, run npm run demo:device in another terminal.
Connect to the server, wait for ready, and confirm your CID. Use TX to send and RX to inspect the returned tag, payload type, and argument list. TX means the client invoked send; it does not acknowledge physical device execution.
Choose a server
| Use | Browser URL | Arduino TCP |
|---|---|---|
| IOSignal basic examples | wss://io.iosignal.net/ws | io.iosignal.net:55488 |
| Remocon examples | wss://io.remocon.kr/ws | io.remocon.kr:55488 |
| Local development | ws://localhost:7777 | computer LAN IP, port 55488 |
Use the same server on both endpoints. localhost on a board or another phone refers to that device, not your development computer. Home channels also require the same server-defined network group. See connections.
Payload checks
EMPTY has no arguments; TEXT with "" is an empty string; JSON null is one explicit null argument. HEX sends binary bytes. A multiple-argument array [] sends no arguments, while [null] sends one. See payload types.
Continue with basic messaging, CID control, group state, or RGB.
